Falconry in Polny Kesov
Poľný Kesov hosts an international falconry meeting organised by the Slovak Falconers' Club, which is part of the Slovak Hunting Chamber.
A report in The Slovak Spectator described a weekend edition in late October with 75 participants from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Norway, flying 60 birds of prey.
Each morning the participants split into groups and hunted over areas of the Nitra and Trnava regions: hawks and eagles flew at European hares, and falcons at pheasants. Falconers kept the game their birds took, and the best hunters were ranked at the end.
Slovakia joined the UNESCO inscription of falconry on 14 December 2021, together with five other states.
