Sabhan
Sabhan is an area of Kuwait that holds the Hunting Exhibition Center. The centre hosted the 2024 Kuwait falcon exhibition, which drew exhibitors from more than 21 countries.
The story of Sabhan
Little published history of Sabhan was found in the sources consulted. Kuwait Times reported that the Hunting Exhibition Center in Sabhan hosted a falcon and hunting exhibition from 24 to 28 September 2024.
That edition was described as the eighth, with exhibitors from more than 21 countries, including first-time participants from Poland, Austria, Portugal and Russia. The exhibition displayed falconry and hunting equipment, and a falcon researcher spoke about threats to falcons.
The same report referred to the falcon passport system that Kuwait adopted in 2021 under CITES. Beyond these recent events, this page does not claim further details about the area.
Falconry in Sabhan
The Hunting Exhibition Center in Sabhan is linked to falconry through the annual falcon and hunting exhibition held there.
The 2024 programme combined equipment displays with talks on falcon welfare and conservation, including contamination of food by pesticides and the registration system for falcons that Kuwait introduced in 2021.
Hybrid and captive-bred falcons were among the birds shown at the exhibition in Kuwait that year. Kuwait is not listed among the countries on UNESCO's multinational falconry entry.
List your business on the pages of the events you attend, so buyers and partners find you before the show.
